As our Bookkeeper you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring accuracy in accounting data. In addition to traditional bookkeeping tasks, you will take on a variety of responsibilities to support the financial health of our organisation.

Responsibilities:
- Documenting financial transactions and monitoring them regularly.
- Preparing and filing financial documents, including processing accounts payable and receivable, fact-checking accounting data, and reconciling company accounts.
- Processing payroll and tracking payroll data.
- Assisting with tax payments and returns, ensuring compliance and timely filing.
- Generating financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Maintaining and monitoring financial records to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Producing or paying invoices.
- Developing systems for financial transactions, including establishing a chart of accounts and maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions.
- Managing budgets for various projects and campaigns.
- Handling purchase orders and ensuring timely payments.
- Tracking invoices and ensuring they are paid on time.
- Assisting with financial planning and budgeting efforts.
- Preventing financial fraud and identifying errors.
- Managing cash flow to ensure the business has sufficient liquidity.
- Ensuring tax compliance and avoiding penalties.
- Generating detailed financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Managing accounts receivable and payable processes.
- Reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy.
- Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Preparing financial statements for internal and external use.
- Monitoring financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Managing and processing employee expense reports.
- Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Overseeing the management of petty cash.
- Preparing budgets for various departments and projects.
- Tracking inventory and ensuring accurate records.
- Managing relationships with vendors and ensuring timely payments.
- Handling tax filings and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Preparing financial projections and forecasts.
- Managing financial software and ensuring it is up-to-date.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in a related role
- Knowledge of VAT processes and regulations
Desirable:
- Experience in the tourism industry or with travel-related business
- A degree or certification in accounting or finance
- Familiarity with expense management platforms
- Active interest in travel, tourism, experiences, live entertainment or sports
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
