Summary

The Financial Controller, Europe, is responsible for managing the financial activities of Prosci Europe business entities covering finance operations, management accounting, tax & treasury.   

This individual will have post qualification experience in one or more global or multi-national organizations, and will support the European and Global Financial Controller with the preparation of  Prosci Europe financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Finance Manager, Europe will possess the knowledge and experience to ensure  accurate, compliant and useful financial reports are produced, and be seen as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and Functional Managers within the European market. 

Scope & Responsibilities

Finance  

  • Manage Europe finance team including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Management Accounting, Tax & Treasury
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including review of subsidiary performance and preparation of group consolidation
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and analytical reports for the European region
  • Proactively Identify accounting and financial issues, along with emerging trends and recommend effective solutions
  • Manage quality control over financial transactions and reporting (including expense claims and reimbursement requests)
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting & produce financial statements
  • Manage and comply with in-country government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Key liaison for external audit process & external tax advisory
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision making
  • Act as a key liaison between the Europe finance team and other departments

Administration  

  • Monitor and manage banking relationships & company compliance partners
  • Develop and adhere to all finance related policies and procedures (including mobile phone plans, travel and accommodation, personal expenses, etc.) 

Process Improvement  

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls for financial processes
  • Recommend and implement cross-country financial management processes for Prosci Europe
  • Continually look for ways to improve operations within the Europe Finance team, recommending changes which will improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Review of existing and potential finance tools, being project lead for any system implementation

People Leadership  

  • Lead and develop the European finance team
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Set realistic individual and team goals
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the finance function and with other departments
  • Ensure new team members are effectively trained in the use of any essential financial tools and platforms used in Europe
  • Ensure European Financial Controller is briefed on pertinent financial matters ahead of Senior Leadership Team meetings
  • Work with the European Financial Controller and Centre of Acceleration to ensure financial activities in Europe align with the overall corporate financial strategy

Technical/Functional Skills
  • Strong commercial finance & group accounting experience across multiple organisations, currencies, and countries
  • IFRS experience is essential, experience in US GAAP is desirable
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel and strong overall proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with financial ERP systems and various accounting software packages and CRM’s
  • Knowledge and experience of European statutory filings/taxes is essential
  • Fluency in English 
Qualifications
  • ACCA/CIMA/CA qualification essential, or European recognised equivalent 
Additional Preferences
  • Fluent/professional competency in French and/or other European languages is highly desirable as the post-holder will be responsible for financial oversight of all Prosci Europe country entities
  • Previous experience of managing finance system integration projects would be desirable
  • Previous experience of managing a remote, culturally diverse team

Travel Requirements: Minimal – some European travel required for team meetings

Work Location: 100% Remote from the UK or Spain
