Amazon North American Stores Marketing is seeking a highly creative and entrepreneurial copywriter to join the retail Marketing team to support retail merchandising and marketing programs.
In this role, you will write and edit copy for Project Haul with a focus on e-commerce merchandising and digital marketing. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization focused on improving the shopping experience for customers.
A successful candidate has a strong understanding crisp and concise benefit-driven messaging for retail, the role of editorial content in the retail journey, and possesses the ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams to achieve organizational goals. They are able work at the program level, by using style guides and experimentation to develop and refine messaging strategies, and at the project level, by using their creative skills to optimize content for each individual campaign or placement. They are a self-starter, comfortable with an ever-changing working environment, and are able to iterate quickly while paying careful attention to every detail and solving problems independently.
Key job responsibilities include:
Developing messaging campaigns across all marketing channels, this includes all traffic driving assets, as well as crafting short-and long-form copy at the product, collection, and brand levels for digital and print marketing content.
Collaborating with editors and designers to create cohesive merchandising stories for customers.
Collaborating with marketing managers to strategize on a messaging hierarchy that can be pulled through all campaign assets, and performing experiments to optimize messaging.
Contributing to brand and seasonal style guides.
Thoroughly proofreading content through various stages of presentation and production.
Writing and editing for related retail marketing needs as required, including print media, advertising, presentations, etc.

* Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.

The Amazon North America Creative team is a multidisciplinary team, comprising creative directors, art directors, producers, visual designers, copywriters, stylists, and more. Our diverse group brings expertise in video, print, branding, and styling, with backgrounds spanning retail, tech, print and digital media, academia, and agency work. Above all else, our team culture is built around an environment of learning, experimentation, and inventing on behalf of the customer. Each day feels a little bit different on this team, as we create content for an exciting array of new brands, products, experiences, and features. - 5+ years of copywriting at advertising agencies and/or in-house creative departments.
- Must have an online portfolio URL in your resume - demonstrating big, campaign thinking that can extend into any medium.
- Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, as well as their use within marketing.
- Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and grows an audience.
- You are a insightful and innovative problem solver.
- You bring verbal flair and conceptual excellence to the work, inspiring team members to raise the creative bar.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
