We are DesignScene. A global agency specializing in design-led events and experiential marketing campaigns for leading brands. We are seeking an industry-leading Creative Director (Experiential), based in London, to guide our creative studio and bring to life unforgettable live events and experiences. If you’re a visionary with at least 10 years of agency experience and a minimum of 2 years in a similar role, this hands-on leadership position could be for you.

Reports to: Managing Director or CEO
Leads: Creative Team
Key interactions: All agency

As Creative Director, you will shape and oversee the entire creative journey, from initial pitch to final execution, working hand-in-hand with both creative and operations teams. Your role will be to deliver exceptional brand experiences that resonate with audiences and exceed client expectations. We are looking for someone with a passion for design, contemporary culture, and a history of creating world-class experiential moments.

Location: DesignScene Limited, London, UK

Employment Type: Permanent Full time (hybrid 3 days in office Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday)

Salary: dependant on experience

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Vision: Develop and communicate creative strategies that align with client objectives and push creative boundaries. You’ll lead brainstorming sessions, develop cutting-edge event concepts, and guide the creative team in producing top-tier deliverables.
  • Client Partnership: Act as a key partner to our clients, understanding their brands deeply and translating this into experiential solutions. Present concepts confidently and manage client expectations throughout the process.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative environment where creativity flourishes. You’ll guide a talented studio, ensuring their professional growth and maintaining a consistently high standard of creative output.
  • Project Execution: Oversee every phase of the creative process, managing multiple projects with precision and ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines, budgets, and the highest quality standards.
  • Innovation & Trends: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, integrating the latest technologies and design practices to keep our agency’s work fresh and innovative.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all creative work adheres to brand guidelines and exceeds quality benchmarks, consistently delivering exceptional results.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Creative Director or similar role in an events or experiential agency.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your innovative design skills and successful creative direction in live events.
  • Leadership abilities that inspire creativity and collaboration.
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep understanding of event production processes including AV, set design, staging, and digital integration.
  • A passion for problem-solving and attention to detail.

  • An evident understanding of clients' brand, products, their competitors and the market environment
  • On time delivery of all creative material from all relevant teams, produced to the Experience leading remote teams of designers across time zones
  • The ability to construct persuasive arguments that deliver positive results
  • Be highly creative with an ability to develop ideas quickly and methodically
  • A strong experience of creative processes and structures for events and experiential 
  • A good knowledge of and practical skills in photoshop, C4D, 2D & 3D animation software
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
  • An experienced line manager and team leader who allows their team to shine
