About this role
GPTZero’s AI detection platform has had explosive organic growth over the past 2 years through product-led growth, word-of-mouth, SEO and key partnerships. As our Growth Marketer, you will develop the strategy that scales our customer acquisition and own the growth levers to drive efficient and profitable growth.
We are looking for a T-shaped marketer with deep expertise in performance marketing and an eye for creativity—someone who brings a data-driven and analytical mindset to growth. We value experience at a fast-growing start-up—where profitable growth was an expectation. As our Founding Growth Marketer, you must possess a strong sense of ownership and be willing to demonstrate a history of executing efficiently.
You will report directly to our CEO, and partner with our product marketing, engineering, and design teams to execute your growth marketing strategy.
Logistics
This is a full-time position with competitive salary, benefits, and equity.
We work hybrid, three times a week, in our New York, Union Square office. Flexible for a remote start, and relocation.
Requirements
4+ years growth marketing or growth hacking experience
Experience at an early stage and/or experience scaling a growth marketing team is preferred
T-shaped marketer with deep expertise in Performance Marketing (Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Retargeting), Influencer marketing, and/or Affiliate marketing.
Knowledgeable in maximizing investments in SEO and SEM,
Experience managing user activation and lifecycle marketing
Data analytics familiarity: Amplitude, A/B tests, Databricks, Excel, Google Analytics or similar web analytics
SQL familiarity is a bonus, but not required.
CRM familiarity: Hubspot, or email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Iterable, Sendgrid, etc.)

Hackiness and eye for creativity. You’re constantly thinking of new ideas and you’ll do whatever it takes to get your projects over the finish line.
Comfortable hiring and training video content producers for organic marketing
Data brained: You want data to inform your choices, and will seek that data to uncover insights, e.g. in SQL and Excel or data analytics platforms. You think infrastructurally.
Velocity and direction. You’ll constantly try new growth ideas in this role. When things don’t work, you pivot; when they do, you move fast to scale them.
Excellent communication skills. You communicate your ideas clearly and concisely, adapting your style to your audience and objectives when working with executives, marketing teammates, product engineers, or designers.
