Credit Genie is at an exciting inflection point. With the business having had received investment from several tier 1 investors, including Khosla Ventures, PayPal Ventures, and First Round Capital, as well as its user base being projected to reach 1M customers on the platform within the next year, the team is seeking a marketing executive to lead all new customer acquisition efforts as they continue to scale. 

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for leading all performance marketing strategy and demand generation efforts. The leader will focus on scaling the business through lead-generation tactics that drive sustainable and efficient ad spend and measurable results. As the company scales, this leader will have the chance to shape and execute the overall marketing strategy that fuels Credit Genie’s growth, enhances brand recognition, and deepens customer engagement. 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, customer retention, and revenue growth, leveraging digital channels, data-driven insights, and market trends; you will lead growth and performance marketing efforts and drive sustainable growth strategies across paid social, paid search, affiliate, mobile/app, video, cross-channel, and traditional media.

  • Establish and further implement a measurable, metrics-driven ROI approach to marketing without sacrificing positioning, brand, or investment setting growth targets on key metrics. 

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies that effectively navigate the unique challenges of promoting products in the credit space, balancing the need for high ROI with strict compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee the exploration of new channels and opportunities to ensure the marketing organization remains best-in-class; you will instill a growth mindset in the organization by creating a baseline understanding of organic growth drivers.

  • Monitor results and manage marketing forecasts with the Executive Leadership Team reacting appropriately by making tangible recommendations on budget optimization improvements and increasing performance. 

  • Provide input on Credit Genie's strategic direction from a creative and branding perspective, including brand positioning, messaging, visual identity, and brand guidelines, to create a consistent and compelling brand image that connects deeply with users.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify new opportunities for business growth, innovation, and differentiation in the digital app or fintech space

  • Recruit, coach, and grow a team of world-class, high-performing marketers; you will continue to develop and inspire the team, which is inclusive of strong internal and external partners.

  • Align marketing initiatives with company goals, alongside product teams and Executive Leadership, to contribute heavily to commercial growth.

Professional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing demand/growth/performance marketing teams within early-stage, high-growth organizations; preference for an understanding of financial services and/ or app-based digital businesses in a highly regulated environment.

  • Experience creating repeatable and scalable performance marketing engines, especially those that are digital-first; preference for deep expertise across SEM, SEO, Paid Social, Paid Search, and other paid channels.

  • Has scaled customer base from 500K+ in a high-growth, digital-first, consumer business to millions of monthly active users.

  • Ability to grow and scale marketing investment on a measurable basis (CPA, ROI, MMM, etc.); you are analytical and have a demonstrated ability to translate data into strategies that align with business goals - you are open to experimentation and constantly testing and analyzing campaign performance.

  • Readiness to expand marketing responsibilities alongside the growth of the company; you have a proven ability to structure a marketing organization to align with business objectives, balancing short-term goals with long-term strategic growth.

  • Demonstrated success in identifying and hiring top talent across key marketing functions (e.g., performance marketing, content, brand, analytics) to drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Experience executing with a balanced approach to execution and have a deep understanding of the trade-offs between in-house and outsourced marketing efforts, including considerations of cost efficiency, scalability, and speed to market; you can strategically blend internal resources and agency partnerships to maximize campaign performance and operational flexibility.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other business functions in a matrixed environment; you have an ease for gaining trust, credibility, and influence at all levels of the organization.
