Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented M&A Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. This role focuses on managing employee benefits programs during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. You will serve as a key advisor to clients, ensuring seamless integration or separation of benefits plans while navigating complex regulatory, financial, and operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to clients undergoing mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, providing strategic guidance on employee benefits programs.
- Plan Analysis: Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing benefits programs, identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for alignment with organizational goals.
- Integration and Transition Management: Lead the integration or separation of benefits plans, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with client objectives.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with carriers, brokers, and internal teams to negotiate terms, implement plan changes, and resolve issues during the M&A process.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all benefits programs comply with applicable laws, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other regulations.
- Due Diligence Support: Assist in the due diligence process by analyzing benefits liabilities, costs, and potential risks associated with the transaction.
- Employee Communication: Develop and deliver clear, concise communication plans to educate employees on benefits changes resulting from the transaction.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of benefits plans, transactions, and client communications.
- Industry Expertise: Stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulatory updates in employee benefits and M&A activity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in business, human resources, insurance, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years working as an employee benefits manager with a focus on M&A transactions post acquisition
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, such as ACA, ERISA, and COBRA.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex benefits structures and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and benefits management software.
- Life and Health Insurance License
