Impact Media reaches over 55 million unique users each month — making us one of the highest engaged platforms on IG (compared to traditional media platforms like NYtimes, WashingtonPost, CNN, Buzzfeed etc),  This rich engagement attracts partners ranging from values-driven companies like Hinge, Beyond Meat, Misfits Market, KEEN Footwear, and LinkedIn,  to non-profit organizations such as Planned Parenthood and Climate Power.

Our Impact

The Impact team has fundraised $1.7M+ for social causes and organizations like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Ukrainian Refugees, and COVID-19 relief. With many of our content pieces, we aim to provide our readers with action items, directing hundreds of thousands of petition signatures to important causes such as abortion access, climate justice, and many more.

We’re searching for a driven, entrepreneurial seller who is passionate about social justice, media, value-driven businesses, and content-driven partnerships. 

You will:

  • Drive revenue by selling advertising and branded content including video, social, and digital. Your focus will be on our existing customers, as well as small and midsize businesses + nonprofit partners. 
    • You will primarily sell our Instagram pages, but as we grow cross-platform there will be more opportunities!
  • Create and utilize marketing and sales collateral, visual presentations, research reports and sales support data to help close deals with new and existing customers.
  • Introduce our brands, reach, and product suite to clients and agencies through digital and in person meetings,and written materials.
  • Strategically identify, target, and outreach to potential clients.
  • Respond to RFPs with detailed, customized proposals that showcase Impact's unique platforms and audience engagement strategies in the context of the proposal requests.
  • Design comprehensive, innovative media plans that integrate our product offerings and are tailored to the specific goals and budgets of clients.
  • Work with and mentor a junior team member and/or intern to accomplish day-to-day sales operations 
  • Collaborate with team to sell a new suite of products including but not limited to: audience insights, experiential, creator campaigns, determined by evolving business needs

Compensation: $80K - 95K base + commission 

*Job offers will be extended based on the provided salary range, taking into account the individual's experience.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following in their background…

  • 2-5+ years of experience in sales, media sales, or advertising. 
    • A particular focus with small business clients or nonprofit clients is appreciated. 
  • Experience at a leading publisher, social media platform, digital player or agency.
  • Experience tracking against quantitative OKRs/goals
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding your sales goals 
  • A deep understanding of social and cultural issues as they pertain to brand marketing and comms 
  • A knowledge of social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snap and the latest social ad products

The ideal candidate will have the following work style… 

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and an ability to persuade at all levels of an agency or client
  • Experience interfacing directly with clients 
  • A data-and results-led approach
  • Experience in the pitch/proposal process for agency, brand, or creative work(and an enjoyment for this process)
  • Extremely goals oriented 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit
  • The ability to work in a fast-moving company and industry
