Reporting to the K-12 School Product Marketing Manager, the Marketing Associate will be a creative self-starter excited by the idea of working in digital publishing and building a brand within the K-12 educational market. This role presents the opportunity to be part of a highly entrepreneurial and inspired environment that is collaborative, fast paced, and always looking toward what is next in publishing.
Responsibilities
Be strategic! Contribute to the execution of the marketing plan for the ABC-CLIO databases with ownership of a suite of databases within the portfolio. Help support the expansion of the brand in the K-12 and higher education markets. Facilitate driving usage and awareness within schools, libraries, and two- and four-year colleges.
Be creative! Participate in the development and implementation of the global integrated plan and engage in marketing activity for assigned products including but not limited to:
· Content Marketing
· Social Media
· Partnerships
· Event strategy/conference marketing
· Digital Marketing
· Advertising
Develop marketing materials and plans for the library and academic conferences we attend throughout the year. Work with the Global Conference Manager to ensure digital resources are represented at all appropriate conferences. Attend major conferences as needed.
Be a Team Player! Work in close association with the global marketing and sales departments to further establish and enhance the brand and that of our products. Act as a group point of contact for the sales teams and help with lead generation for the sales team for product launches and sales campaigns.
Be a Great Communicator! Liaise with other departments, especially Sales, Product Management, Product Development, and Editorial, ensuring open and effective communication.

• A confident, creative, collaborative person with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.

• Articulate and able to present confidently both internally and with customers, agents, and third-party clients.
• Basic graphic design experience using Canva or similar.
• Intermediate to advanced experience creating and posting social media content.
• Knowledge and experience of Salesforce or other CRM databases is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience of WordPress is a plus.
• Experience creating email templates and scheduling and deploying emails through Mailchimp or other email management software.
Location
All candidates must reside within travel distance of the Maryland or New York offices on a hybrid-remote schedule.
Compensation
The anticipated gross base range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and location.
