Job Summary:

The Product Marketing Designer is a key contributor to the Product Marketing Team, which is tasked with enabling sales conversion and supporting Senior Leadership with key messaging collateral. This role is responsible for developing, designing, and updating materials that will be used in PowerPoint slides, brochures, one-pagers, the corporate website, and social media. You’ll work with a library of existing graphics and imagery to create new outputs, as well as conceptualize and create completely new designs to help explain the firm’s offering and educate clients about important investment and financial planning concepts.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, creative, team-oriented, and have experience with compelling visual storytelling. Prior experience with investment finance is not required but is a strong plus.

 

Essential Job Functions for this role include:

  • Directly support the VP of Product Marketing and Senior Leadership (President, CEO, CIO, CMO) by creating compelling and visually engaging messaging collateral based on business priorities.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to develop new graphics for conveying complicated investment and financial planning concepts.
  • Help us differentiate our brand and offering by illustrating concepts in new ways, helping us to stand apart from the competition and better educate our clients.
  • Leverage our library of existing graphics to create new outputs (PPTs, 1-pagers, brochures, etc.) in line with existing brand and quality standards.
  • Help us maintain our current library by updating and improving designs as they come up for quarterly or annual review.
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for composition and effective arrangement of visual elements, typography, and imagery to create visually appealing and easy-to-understand designs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, or related field, with 5+ years of experience with graphic design.
  • NYC based, with an ability to work from our Manhattan office 2-3 days per week (on average).
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) as well as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Strong graphic design skills with thorough understanding of design principles, including branding, layout, typography, and color theory.
  • Ability to regularly interact with Senior Leadership to understand their ideas/requests and then translate into visual design options.
  • Prior experience with investment finance is not required but is a strong plus.
  • Must supply design samples or portfolio.

Work Schedule:

This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.  At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.    

All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.

 

Working Conditions:

This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions.  Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements.  Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.

Location: This is a hybrid role in NYC, New York.

Salary: Average annual salary range for this position across our locations is: $65,000 to $85,000.  Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications.  This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
