About the role
You will play a central role in Abatable’s growth, helping climate-conscious organisations to effectively navigate, access, and finance high-integrity climate solutions, thereby fostering enduring positive effects on the environment and society at large. You will become an expert on Abatable’s sourcing, market intelligence and advisory services helping to identify new business opportunities, qualify their needs, develop opportunities and drive them to closure.
What you’ll be doing
- Consistently achieve your quarterly sales targets and KPIs
- Generating new opportunities through activities such as prospecting, attending events, responding to inbound enquiries or leveraging the network of our employees and associates
- Managing the sales cycle end to end
- Accurately track and update opportunities in our CRM to help manage your time, prioritise deals and ensure the business can accurately forecast
- Support in analysing the market and customer engagement to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop and launch campaigns
- Collaborate with our product teams to share feedback, and what’s working / not working in order to direct the product roadmap

For this role, we are specifically looking for:
- Sales Expertise: An established Business Development Manager with a strong B2B sales track record:
- Senior Business Development Manager should have 7+ years of sales experience working with complex sales in Top-Tier Corporates
- Business Development Manager should have 5+ years of B2B sales experience
- Industry Knowledge: Strong preference for experience in the voluntary carbon market, though we won't automatically discount anyone outside of this industry as long as they can demonstrate a strong passion for this sector and a hunger to learn
- Strategic Thinker: ability to assess a situation and support in shaping Abatable's strategy
- A Go Getter / Problem Solver: takes initiative when opportunities present themselves or when problems block progress. AKA thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Adaptability / Embraces change: is comfortable with uncertainty and can evolve with the business as it responds to market changes
- High integrity: Committed to doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest route.
