As a Senior Account Executive at Nala, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Rafiki, our groundbreaking B2B payments solution thatā€™s addressing a significant gap in the African payments ecosystem. With the market potential for Rafiki valued in the trillions of dollars across Africa, you will be at the forefront of a transformative product, playing a critical role in driving customer acquisition and accelerating revenue growth.

You'll join as the second sales hire at Rafiki, giving you the chance to make a lasting impact on the business from day one. You will have high-quality leads to nurture immediately, including existing opportunities and relationships, allowing you to hit the ground running. You'll be responsible for closing high-value deals, nurturing long-term relationships, and contributing directly to the strategic growth of Rafiki.

With an ambitious revenue target for 2025, youā€™ll play a key role in scaling Rafiki beyond Africa, expanding it into new global markets and establishing it as the leading B2B payments solution worldwide.

šŸŽÆ Your Responsibilities in this Role
  • Nurture and maintain strong relationships with inbound and outbound leads, guiding them through the sales pipeline to close.
  • Partner with the Head of Sales to align on strategy, share insights, and collaborate on achieving sales targets and revenue growth.
  • Take ownership of closing high-value enterprise deals, managing complex sales cycles from prospecting to contract negotiations.
  • Drive the execution of the sales strategy for Rafiki, targeting key sectors and decision-makers within the B2B payments landscape.
  • Provide tailored solutions to prospective clients, ensuring Rafiki meets their unique needs and challenges.
  • Regularly report on sales progress, forecast revenue, and share key market insights to inform future strategy.

šŸ”„ Must-have requirements
  • Experience working within a fintech and selling into the financial services or banking sectors.
  • Previous experience in a Head of Sales or similar leadership role, demonstrating success in driving sales growth and managing a sales team.
  • Solid background in enterprise sales, with a proven track record of closing high-value, complex deals and managing long sales cycles.

  • Proven experience in the payments industry with a strong understanding of its dynamics and challenges
  • Knowledge of the African market and its unique business landscape.
  • Strong experience in both outbound sales and nurturing/closing inbound leads

  • Interview with Head of Sales (1 hour)
    Dive deeper into your sales experience, approach, and strategic thinking. Weā€™ll discuss how you can contribute to scaling Rafikiā€™s growth.
  • Case Study: Pitch Your Product (30 minutes)
    Weā€™ll ask you to pitch a product you're currently selling, giving us insight into your sales abilities, communication skills, and how you handle real-world scenarios.
  • Interview with a Team Member (30 minutes)
    A collaborative conversation with one of our team members to understand how youā€™ll work within our culture and contribute to the teamā€™s success.
  • Final Interview with our COO (30 minutes)
    A chance for you to meet with our COO, discuss your vision for the role, and ask any final questions about Nalaā€™s mission and goals
