The Opportunity:

The Energy Council is a membership network connecting senior energy executives to finance and investment professionals to enable access to capital and facilitate deals. This is achieved through a series of award-winning conferences and various bespoke networking experiences. Recent event locations include London, Houston, New York, Milan, Singapore, and Rio de Janeiro.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and creative Senior Marketing Executive to join the Energy Council team in London. The successful candidate will take the lead on creating and executing marketing campaigns for our portfolio of conferences. Reporting into the Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for producing and implementing year-round marketing strategy, promoting our conferences and events to delegates and sponsors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate, and dedicated Senior Marketing Executive with the experience to deliver bespoke marketing campaigns for a senior audience. The role will hold responsibility for creating and implementing innovative marketing campaigns, delivered on time and within budget, leveraging email, website, social media, content, and influencers in our network to generate highly qualified leads for our sales team and achieve marketing KPIs.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding attention to detail, be highly proactive and an excellent team player with the ability to manage multiple projects to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering cross-channel marketing campaigns with support of conference producers in line with the event or project objectives.
  • Writing and proofing copy for a range of marketing platforms and materials including websites, social media, emails, and brochures.
  • Managing the planning and execution of all email campaigns and creating customer journeys for events from start to finish.
  • Working with the research team to segment data, identify gaps, develop new data sources, and implement a data build plan.
  • Managing and maintain event websites with regular updates.
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of digital campaigns/channels and marketing emails, making recommendations to improve performance and drive ROI.
  • Producing comprehensive post campaign reports, with recommendations for future improvements.
  • Assisting with the design, production and distribution of all promotional materials relating to the portfolio.
  • Working with key media and association partners to secure valuable external promotions for the conferences.
  • Maintaining social media pages.
  • Taking ownership of key overall brand campaigns, such as monthly newsletter and various web pages.
  • Proactively participating in 1:1s, team meetings and project meetings, putting forward observations and new ideas to drive the success of both marketing and wider team activities.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Marketing experience in a similar role.
  • Strong copywriting and proofing skills.
  • Knowledge of best practice across email, social media, paid media, and websites.
  • Solid understanding of the core event marketing disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Creative eye and strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical and able to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Multi-tasking with the ability to prioritise relevant tasks.
  • Highly proactive and happy to take on a challenge.
  • A genuine team player that is collaborative in nature.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • Experience using Pardot, Salesforce or a similar CRM system is desirable.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, or an alternative CMS platform, is desirable.
