Position Description We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Syndicated Bank Loan & CLO Operations Manager to join our Alternative Operations team. Our team supports PIMCO’s Alternatives business, which includes complex hedge funds and private equity vehicles. In this role, you will engage key stakeholders, including Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external service providers, to ensure timely settlements and maintenance of all broadly syndicated bank loan trades across PIMCO. You will be the escalation point of contact for internal and external partners, requiring a deep understanding of bank loans, CLOs, and other complex fixed income structures. As the Syndicated Bank Loan & CLO Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing bank loan and CLO compliance and risk management, ensuring seamless and efficient processes across our expanding bank loan and CLO business. You will connect back, middle, and front office operations, establishing and maintaining internal controls to effectively manage compliance and operations in in all fund structures, including the CLO Warehouse Lending and Securitization business. Responsibilities The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support PIMCO’s bank debt portfolio managers and external counsel with settlement oversight and life cycle management on all syndicated bank loan trades, both par and distressed. Provide necessary oversight and serve as an escalation point to outsourced providers performing back-office related functions (settlements, asset setup, P&I processing, etc.). Assist with loan amendments and restructurings. Oversee agent and fund administrator reconciliations performed by the outsourced provider. Enhance PIMCO’s bank loan operating model, including technology enhancements, outsourcing engagements, and service provider management. Develop proper controls and oversight for the bank loan investments across PIMCO. Manage and oversee career development for a team of three. Assist the deal team with CLO warehouse ramp-up, securitization, and active management. Act as a liaison between Portfolio Management, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, Product Strategy, and Tax on CLO and bank loan-related inquiries. Negotiate vendor contracts and provide management oversight of outsourced service providers, shadow compliance agents, trustees, and CLO technology partners. Provide operational guidance on CLO deal documents during the drafting process. Attend industry conferences and stay updated on industry trends. Serve as project manager for internal/external software implementations Independently operate and help grow business segment Position Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required. 12+ years of experience with bank loans and CLO operations, including: Hands-on experience with warehouse to securitization phases, Knowledge of the US and European leveraged loan market and structured finance obligations. Operational support across par and distressed term loans, revolvers, and delayed draw syndicated bank loans. Review and interpretation of credit agreements, term sheets, indentures, and other security offering documents. Hypothetical trading processes. Oversight of fund-level and asset-based financings, including loan TRS. Loan settlement process through Clearpar, LMA/LSTA documents. Full CLO cycle experience – from warehouse to securitization, effective date through post-reinvestment period, and best practices in CLO management. Demonstrated knowledge of the syndicated bank loans market, risk retention compliance, CLO indentures, and credit agreements. Prior use of Loan and CLO Compliance systems such as WSO Compliance, Sentry, Solvas, Allvue, Moody’s Analytics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for client meetings. Consistent track record managing bank loan and CLO operations and managing outsourced providers. Good working knowledge of Excel and Bloomberg is essential. Understanding of SQL and database query tools is desirable. Prior people management experience is crucial. PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
