We have an exciting opportunity to join a Professional Services Not-For-Profit. This important position will help grow their global community of 90,000 members. Membership provides the benefits and resources for students and professionals to learn, contribute, and stay connected to the engineering field.
The Specialist, Membership Marketing, will play a pivotal role as the point person on the Membership team for message and creative development, copywriting, and marketing execution for all campaigns throughout the member lifecycle. This includes omni-channel marketing campaigns for acquisition, renewals, and benefit reinforcement. This individual must have a consumer-centric mindset and be able to tailor the messaging to different segments including students, early career and experienced professionals to drive increased levels of engagement. This position will also be the group’s central point of contact for leveraging marketing automation by understanding the user journey and reaching prospects and members at the right time with the right messaging.

What you’ll do:
- Act as the central point person on the team to help develop effective messaging for lifecycle marketing campaigns, including acquisition, retention, and benefit reinforcement. This involves partnering with benefit owners to understand benefit value propositions in order to effectively create key selling points for member benefits to ultimately drive new acquisition and retention.
- Partner with team members to set up and execute omni-channel campaigns for acquisition, retention, and benefit reinforcement. This includes managing the email marketing channel, including scheduling, list criteria selection, template selection, and image selection.
- Assist with digital marketing execution based on strategy. This includes partnering with Design team, Marketing team, and external agencies to create and refresh creatives and copy for complete lifecycle of members.
- Assist with implementation of conversion strategy that maximizes lifetime revenue by converting free trialists to paid subscribers.
- Serve as team lead for transition to marketing automation across multiple channels. Be able to set up nurtures with tailored messaging that are triggered based on member behavior collected.
- Review and share marketing automation results with appropriate team members to make adjustments to the touchpoints and messaging to members.
- Partner with other business units to have a stronger understanding of all marketing that targets members in order to improve member experience.
- Analyze high level view of member communications from Membership and other business units and provide recommendations to improve cadence of marketing to members.
- Assist in developing test and learn campaigns to continually improve marketing creatives that resonate with different segments.
- Assist in the evaluation of the customer journey from sign-up to renewal to improve member touchpoints. Understand key areas of member pain points within the user experience and be able to partner with the appropriate resources to create a seamless process for joining or renewing membership. This includes paid and trial memberships.
- Assist in implementation of go-to-market strategy and execution for new product, feature, and benefit launches for domestic and international members that align with enterprise goals
- Manage and execute ad-hoc projects and provide general support for the Director, Membership Development.
What you have:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (Marketing or related concentration) or equivalent additional experience and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in copy writing and creative development
- Knowledge and experience with various direct marketing methodologies, communication channels, and digital marketing
- Experience with marketing automation to create triggered messaging through multiple channels for a member’s lifecycle from acquisition to retention
- Strong analytical and reporting skills for campaign results analysis and recommendations
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and vendors
- Proven ability to problem solve
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and work independently, keeping to tight deadlines
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Strong curiosity to learn, share best practices, and be a self-starter
- Possess a positive, team-player attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of Acrobat, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with databases and graphics illustration a plus.
- Prior experience with subscription products or services a plus
