This job opportunity closely aligns with one of these key strategic pillars, which is driving Strengthening and Accelerating our core business. The Senior Brand Manager will lead marketing on Eight O’Clock Coffee and will be a key partner in delivering business targets (Net sales, brand awareness, market share and penetration) through the development and execution of brand strategy and marketing plan activities for the Eight O’ Clock Coffee portfolio. A blend of business management and brand development skills are critical for success. Supported by two assistant brand managers, this is a tremendous opportunity to be entrepreneurial with a fun challenger brand in a very competitive category.

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

Financial Outcomes

  • Eight O’Clock financials: Lead the delivery of the financial objectives of EoC brand including market share, brand penetration and awareness build targets. Also responsible for leading the annual business planning process for EoC

Brand Building

  • Brand campaigns: Lead development and implementation of annual brand campaigns
  • Media Planning: Lead media and connections planning with the media agency
  • PR management: Manage the monthly PR calendar and plan PR events and placements
  • Influencer marketing: Manage the annual influencer calendar and monthly influencer tracking with agencies to ensure delivery

Shopper marketing

  • Sales interface: Be the direct interface with sales for National accounts
  • In-store marketing: Guide the ABM for annual shopper marketing plan and deliver all the shopper sales tools including sell decks, innovation sell sheets, shippers etc.

Innovation and Learning

  • Product Innovation: Lead product and packaging innovation and brand change and commercialization
  • Brand and category insights: Coordinate with the consumer insights manager and sales strategy teams to consistently deliver insights that drive growth

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

  • Minimum 7 years of marketing US CPG experience
  • Strong business and financial acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
  • Experience with syndicated data tools (Nielsen, IRI)
  • Experience managing external agency partners
  • Undergrad required; MBA preferred
  • People management skills and previous experience of managing a team of 1+ direct reports

What are the Desirable success factors for the Role ?

  • Passion to work on challenger brands. Mindset to do more with less
  • Strong ability to influence sales teams and a deep understanding of the FMCG customer operating environment
  • Proven success in building brands in culture in the US through PR, influencers and media
  • Good communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Familiarity with the consumer goods industry and an understanding of its challenges and opportunities
