Red Flag is recruiting an Account Executive (Strategic Communications and Public Affairs) to support and drive engagement across our growing UK and international client base.

Having secured a number of new business wins, Red Flag’s London office is seeking like-minded, energetic and motivated candidates to join our talented team of former government advisers, journalists, multinational executives and expert political and strategy consultants.


If you are excited by the prospect of working on some of the most pressing policy issues of our day, while honing razor sharp communications skills as part of a dynamic team, this role may be for you.


This position offered is for a full-time Account Executive based in our London office, with the opportunity of hybrid working. Some international travel may be required.


Your responsibilities:

Account Executives are vitally important to Red Flag. They are the backbone of the company and provide invaluable support to account teams and clients through smart monitoring, research, and drafting of advocacy and strategic communications materials.


While Red Flag Account Executives are drawn from a variety of fields, including politics, policy and media, they have in common a strong work ethic, an appetite to achieve results and a solutions-oriented mindset.


Red Flag's Account Executives:

  • Develop, implement and monitor communications campaigns in support of public affairs and regulatory objectives on behalf of our clients.
  • Consistently monitor and analyse media coverage (traditional and digital) of client and prospective client issues.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on content and sentiment of debate across platforms, as well as of regulatory developments.
  • Identify opportunities for new business development in cooperation with senior staff.


Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of public relations or political experience (agency experience preferred).
  • Strong writing skills (ability to write press releases, communications plans, speaking points, social media content, etc.); ability to understand and write clearly about technical subjects.
  • Proven ability to manage projects.
  • High level of comfort communicating with clients and journalists.
  • Media relations experience and media skills/contacts preferred.
  • Interest in digital communications and experience working with social media tools are desirable.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a creative, challenging and fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take the initiative.
