Position Summary
This position is a hybrid role, reporting three – four days per week into our New York Campus, located in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan.
Hebrew Union College seeks a collaborative, creative, and dynamic Digital Marketing Manager to join our Communications and Marketing Team. The Digital Marketing Manager works across the College to develop an integrated calendar of content for social platforms, website, and email marketing. They will engage with campus life to generate and use a range of content formats to develop compelling social media stories and site content. The manager is responsible for building an active and engaged community through the College’s digital platforms, which includes regularly creating, curating, and posting diverse and dynamic content, monitoring the channels, and responding to feedback via these channels. The Manager will analyze engagement data on a weekly basis and make strategic recommendations for how to use these insights in ways that measurably advance institutional goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage HUC’s email communications, including messaging in support of advancement and alumni engagement, recruitment, student life, academic affairs, public programming, and strategic messaging from the President and other senior administrators.
Coordinate with colleagues across all campuses and academic and administrative departments to schedule email requests on a global institutional email calendar to ensure minimal overlap and maximal impact.
Create copy and visual assets, oversee content edits and coding, coordinate list distribution requests, and test across multiple platforms, incorporating best practices and emerging trends in email communications.
Send weekly roundups of email and social media outreach to internal stakeholders to ensure colleagues are apprised of bulk communications.
Create and maintain the College-Institute’s social media channels with appropriate, creative, and timely mission-focused information.
Collaborate with departments across the College for unit-based content.
Create dynamic content (text, image, video) to promote meaningful audience participation.
Seek out emerging social media avenues and ways of connecting with audiences.
Provide best-practices support for unit/campus-specific email and social media content to ensure that it remains branded and mission-focused.
Monitor performance analytics to develop data-driven strategies for increasing engagement and provide regular reports on digital media activity to senior administrators and other internal stakeholders.
Research, write, and post news features and other content online and across other channels as appropriate.
Consult with members of our student, faculty, staff, alumni, and donor communities to identify new content for newsletters, social media, and website.
Ensure equity in representation across our academic programs, schools, campuses, identities, etc.
Create strategic thematic content to support institutional initiatives.
Anthologize content for use by senior leadership, fundraisers, recruiters, and others.
Assist with various Communications duties, such as photo management and basic video editing, as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in Communications or related field
Experience
Minimum of five years progressive experience in developing strategic email, social media, and other digital communications, specifically writing and editing content, and project management with a variety of colleagues across a large organization.
Expert-level proficiency using Mailchimp for email communications, including managing lists, and designing and building graphic templates to work across all platforms and devices.
Expert-level proficiency and fluency in best practices and trends using Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Flickr for strategic promotion of complex, mission-driven organization.
Proficiency in digital marketing analytics and growth strategies.
