PIMCO is seeking a London based Trader for its Global FX desk. The individual will be responsible for execution of FX transactions across all currencies. A key aspect of this role would be to work with analysts to manage existing FX exposures across PIMCO portfolios, including both active and passive positions. Trading volumes will likely be high and the ability to multitask effectively will be essential. The candidate must show an aptitude for conceptualizing transactions, demonstrating the impact of trades and trade strategy, and communicating with portfolio managers and senior management. This position will also require maintaining strong working relationships with sell-side FX market-makers, electronic execution vendors and platforms. Key Responsibilities: Execute foreign exchange transactions across all currencies. Oversee existing FX exposures within all PIMCO funds, client portfolios, and FX-hedged share classes. Prepare materials and presentations related to trading activities and market conditions and produce regular market commentary. Leverage market insights alongside macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to generate trade ideas in both developed and emerging markets. Utilize a diverse skill set to address ad hoc requests within the broader portfolio management framework, providing support across various functional areas. Foster and maintain strong working relationships with sell-side FX market makers, electronic execution vendors, and trading platforms. Position Requirements: Strong academic credentials and achievement, with quantitative acumen preferred. Demonstrate solid knowledge of FX products. Ideally between 2-5 years of experience in FX trading. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively across the organization with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, and Account Managers. Critical Competencies for Success A commonsensical approach to investing.
