Global Head of Reward & Benefits

Location: London/Hybrid – must be within commutable distance
Job Summary
As the Global Head of Reward and Benefits at OPEN Health, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing compensation and reward strategies to attract, motivate, and retain top talent across the organization.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders, notably the Open Health Executive, and other Business and Functional leaders to drive the design of and administer competitive compensation and reward programs that align with business goals, sit within budget and support our commitment to employee engagement and performance. In addition, you would drive the harmonisation and modernization of existing benefits structures into a first-class reward package to meet the needs of our employees.
When the business conditions are right, drive the approach for a group-wide Job Architecture, but in the meantime align with the business to develop tactical solutions for job architecture, building on best practice, as an aid to developing Career Ladders and salary banding structures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and then execute comprehensive compensation and reward strategies, policies, and programs to attract, retain, and motivate top talent globally.
- Conduct market research and analysis to benchmark compensation levels, benefits, and incentive structures against industry standards and competitors.
- Collaborate with People Team business partners, senior management, and finance to design and implement annual compensation and benefit plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary constraints.
- Drive the annual salary review process and Off cycle processes, including job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and merit increase recommendations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to HR business partners and managers on compensation-related matters, including job levelling, salary bands, and incentive plans.
- Monitor market trends and legislative changes related to compensation and benefits, providing recommendations ensuring compliance with local and global regulations.
- Manage the oversight of variable pay programs, such as annual bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentive plans, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payouts, and clear communication to eligible employees.
- Align with our investors on the management of global equity plans
- Oversee the management of global benefit and pension plans
- Analyse compensation and reward data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Drive the communication and education of compensation and benefit programs, ensuring employees have a clear understanding of the total reward offerings available to them.
- Drive tactical and strategic Job Architecture aligned to business conditions – in order to facilitate salary banding and career ladders
- Support on special compensation projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructurings, and job grading initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to best practices.
- Own the relationships with external vendors and consultants and leverage their expertise and ensure effective administration of compensation and reward programs.
- Support the annual budgeting process by providing data and insights related to compensation costs and trends.
- Establish strong relationships across the People Team and within the business.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in compensation and rewards, continuously enhancing OPEN Health’s programs to remain competitive in the market.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Experience in compensation and reward management, preferably within the pharma/healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Proven experience managing comprehensive compensation and rewards programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and long-term incentives.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, conduct market research, and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Proficiency in compensation analysis and benchmarking tools, HR information systems (HRIS), and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience in Job Architecture development
- Broad understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations in various jurisdictions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance compensation and rewards programs.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
