Be you, join us.

We are looking for a seasoned marketing leader to join our team as the global Head of Marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in b2b software marketing, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth under lean, resource efficient, scalable models.

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the marketing function, will report to the CRO and be a member of the GTM management team, and will be expected to collaborate tightly with the BUs and their product marketing functions.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to create and channel demand for Software AG’s core offerings -influencing, and then executing under tight alignment with the rest of the stakeholders, the overall GTM strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with the BU’s Product Marketing function to ensure a single view of the market trends and needs, and teaming up to help define the product roadmap, new launches into the market, market awareness of our innovations and value propositions, etc.
  • As a part of the above, be a collaborative team member driving consensus around the market segments, ideal client profiles, use cases and customer benefits we decide to target and focus on.  And clearly articulate and spread our messages on why we are different and better to help in these niches.
  • In line with the above, define and execute the company's brand positioning and messaging strategy, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
  • Ensure high levels of demand-generation, lead creation and nurturing, around the defined market niches where we as a company have decided to focus. And collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure these leads are followed on.
  • Drive user-community marketing, to nurture adoption of our technologies, x-references across our customers and prospects, and expansion business.
  • While the focus needs to be placed on the agreed niche market segments, ICPs and use cases…, you need to keep a reasonable balance with the rest of the addressable market where we want to keep our market share. Subject to discussion, but think about a 60/70% spend on focus areas, and a 30/40% on the rest of the market.
  • Be an advocate of ecosystem plays and partnering with relevant market players to multiply the spread of our message. Think of partners as an extension of Software AG in the market…, and think of what’s the benefit for them too.., so that together we can drive win-win relationships in the market, be more efficient and scalable, and cover parts of the market that we alone would not have the resources to touch.
  • Drive the development of compelling content and marketing collateral.
  • Monitor and analyze key marketing metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs in demand generation, and optimize performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Take responsibility, in tight collaboration with the BUs, for our positioning with market Analysts
  • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with a strong background in software marketing.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth  -specially coming from companies that were not market leaders in their field, and had a fraction of the marketing budget other competitors may enjoy.
  • Openminded, collaborative, positive, ambitious and play-to-win mindset. A good listener that can also share and challenge others in a positive and constructive way, drive consensus and also be ready to compromise and disagree but commit if needed.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data-driven insights to inform marketing strategies and optimize performance.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for technology and innovation, with a desire to make a meaningful impact in the software industry.
