Job Title: Marketing Manager, Production Music (UK)

Warner Chappell Production Music is a global leader in music production and creative supervision. We offer a diverse catalogue, home to a vast mix of genres and styles, from grime, rock, pop, and electro, to world cultures, and classical. We pride ourselves on quality and authenticity and own a substantial archive of recordings going back 80 years.

Production Music is an easy-to-licence, one-stop-shop business model, intends to serve a variety of TV, advertising, gaming and film clients to soundtrack any and every possible audio-visual production. 

We are a gang of commercially minded music lovers who are passionate about delivering the highest quality music and excellent customer service to clients old and new customers and advocate our huge roster of artists and composers.

Your role:  

As Marketing Manager, you will be a key member of the UK Production Music team, working closely with the Director of UK Production Music and the Sales team to create marketing campaigns to grow brand awareness and champion our music and services to further business opportunities across the industry. 

Here you’ll get to:

  • Devise and execute annual marketing plans and budgeting to maximise engagement, lead generation and retain customers.
  • Responsible for defining and agreeing on annual marketing strategy and objectives alongside the Director of Production Music.
  • Lead, design and implement new marketing opportunities from WCPM for existing clients. 
  • Responsible for generating new leads/contacts for music consultants.
  • Working with industry bodies (across music, broadcast, advertising etc) and appropriate industry partners to become a production music leader, spread awareness, develop, negotiate and execute partnership opportunities for WCPM. 
  • Lead, plan and execute marketing for music releases both as business as usual and highlighting special releases.
  • Lead on negotiating and executing start-to-finish sponsorships and events to maximise value. 
  • Take ownership of customer-facing communications, such as newsletters and social media to new and current clients, highlighting special occasions, events, and promos to suit each client segment and maximise engagement.
  • Responsible for generating ideas for WCPM clients’ events and producing these as appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing 3rd party marketing asset creation- creating concepts for album covers, website assets, socials and briefing relevant designers. 
  • Utilising CRM to engage with clients and increase engagement.
  • Collaborate with global WCPM marketing to create concepts and comms that are relevant across territories we operate in.
  • Be a WCPM champion across the music & media industry.
  • Responsible for the WCPM (UK) website to ensure relevant playlists, news, and new music releases are updated regularly and presented in the most relevant way to our audience.
  • Work with the wider global WCPM marketing teams for cross-over campaigns and alignment in tone of voice.
  • Work closely with the sales team to conceive of and produce relevant customer events. Manage 3rd party sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work with our network of freelancers to produce marketing assets, such as album artwork, social media, and website promotional material.
  • Utilise WCPM’s technology and data tools to measure and report on marketing activity and ROI. Make recommendations to the Director, Production Music and Sales team based on these insights. 
  • Support the sales team to curate and produce compelling pitch decks to support new business opportunities. 
  • Attend relevant industry and networking events to promote WCPM’s music, brand, and industry presence. Generate new industry contacts and leads and gain knowledge/insights that we can leverage. 

About you:

  • Previous experience in a B2B marketing role, preferably within the music, advertising, or TV industries.
  • Proven experience in marketing management is essential.
  • Experience in digital marketing tools like Google Analytics CRM systems.
  • Experience with asset creation and Photoshop.
  • Strong skills in leadership, communication, and analytical thinking are crucial.
  • A creative with an entrepreneurial spirit, who’s excited to contribute to a team’s success.  
  • Proven track record in producing successful and engaging marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and achieve marketing and business goals. 
  • Understands the importance of data and how to utilise analytics to further client engagement. 
  • Obsessed with music in all its forms, particularly as it applies to synchronisation. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills. ”

  • An understanding of the music for synchronisation and broader media industries would be valuable.
  • Relevant education qualification(s) is a bonus, but not a deal breaker!
