Senior Marketing Manager

Role Purpose

Are you an experienced Marketing Manager with strong leadership qualities, experience of working at pace in large growth organisations and comfortable working across teams with varied skills, spotting marketing opportunities, efficiencies and improvements? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Howden UK & Ireland is currently evolving its UK&I marketing infrastructure, as well as launching a new Retail-wide marketing strategy, new processes, policies and consistent ways of working.

We are looking for an exceptional communicator to join the team to work with the Retail Marketing Director for the UK and Ireland to help us through this transition and embed the new strategies before handing over to a BAU team.

You will need to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, with excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills with experience working on multiple projects, as you’ll be leading campaigns and projects to agreed timings. You’ll also need to have the ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically within a fast-paced, changing, environment.

The opportunity sits within Howden UK and Ireland, which has over seventy entities that have recently merged into one, and c.5000 colleagues in 200+ locations. 

This is a diverse and exciting role, and the successful candidate will demonstrate strategic capabilities alongside a willingness to roll their sleeves up to support delivery.  The position is available for a 12-month fixed term contract and does not require regular office presence if not preferred. However, occasional travel to our HQ in the City of London or other regional locations will be expected to cultivate positive relationships with collaborators.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Retail Marketing Director to launch and embed the new Retail-wide marketing strategy including a refresh of our marketing channel strategy, target operating model and client value proposition.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of Retail-wide cross sales and collaboration campaigns to drive growth across the business.
  • Work with the Divisional Marketing Leads and business stakeholders to transition the business from current marketing platforms and channels to the proposed state, including merging and restructuring multiple existing processes.
  • Work with Group brand, marketing, digital and communication teams to support the delivery and engagement of group-led initiatives, and embed a new, more co-ordinated way of working.
  • Work to improve client segmentation and enhance the user-journey to better target the right people more effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop cross Retail measurement tools, analytics and reporting that can be applied to all marketing channels, enabling a better understanding of their efficiency and uncovering potential areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new marketing processes to drive efficiencies and increased engagement.

Person Specification

  • Highly organised with excellent campaign and project management skills, capable of running and prioritising multiple initiatives.
  • Capable of thriving in a matrixed organisation, embracing ambiguity, and collaborating with various partners and team members.
  • Demonstrated initiative in crafting strategies and plans, and effectively communicating messages through multiple channels to internal and external audiences.
  • Strong content creation and communication skills that will ensure you can convey information with energy, clarity, and in a succinct way to a busy audience who are experiencing high levels of ongoing change.
  • Self-motivated with an enquiring mind – not afraid to ask questions.
  • Diligent and focused on delivery – we love people who find or create solutions and can deliver what they promise, on time.

 

Your experience

  • A track record of developing through the line, multi-channel marketing strategies and campaigns that drive growth/ROMI.
  • Experience of working on marketing transformation and/or change programmes.
  • Experience of working in a large/diverse organisation that operates within a 'matrix' structure.
  • Prior experience in a marketing role within a business going through multiple M&A integrations.
  • Experience of developing brand strategy and campaigns, demonstrating enhanced awareness and engagement.
  • Strong digital marketing capabilities and understanding.
  • A bachelor’s degree-level (or equivalent), with a Marketing or Business major, or other relevant professional qualifications.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment, ideally with financial services experience would be advantageous.
