Position Summary:

The Marketing & Physician Outreach Coordinator will have an active role in the planning and execution of digital and traditional marketing campaigns across multiple channels to raise awareness of NYPC and proton therapy among potential patients and referring physicians. Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, the person in this role will coordinate and help grow NYPC’s physician outreach program, arranging in-person presentations and executing a year-round communication strategy targeted toward current and potential referring physicians. This position will also play a key role in digital content creation and developing and executing a year-round social media calendar across all NYPC social media channels. 


Duties and Responsibilities:


Digital Marketing and Social Media 

  • Create and execute a year-round calendar of engaging content for social media, the NYPC website and other platforms that can include photos, graphics, and brief videos. Coordinate with partner hospital marketing and public relations departments when appropriate.
  • Regularly monitor NYPC social media channels and mentions of NYPC by others. Respond to inquiries and report on key metrics.
  • Assist in coordinating photo shoots, videos, etc.
  • Prepare lists of patients invited to leave online reviews. Respond to positive and negative reviews via SocialClimb or Google. 
  • Maintain Google My Business, Healthgrades, Glassdoor, and Indeed profiles.

Marketing to Physicians

  • Support the Marketing & Communications Manager and physician leadership in identifying targets, executing outreach, and strengthening relationships with physician practices within designated medical specialties and geographic areas.
  • Coordinate presentations to current and potential referring physician practices, arranging for physicians to present on proton therapy and NYPC’s capabilities.
  • Identify needs for collateral and other materials that support physician outreach efforts and collaborate with Marketing Manager and external vendors to produce them.
  • Use Salesforce to maintain and update referring physician database. Develop and execute a regular schedule of email communications to referring providers.
  • Establish and maintain communication with office staff at referring provider practices and ensure practices have a sufficient supply of patient education material including the disease-specific information sheets.

 

Traditional Marketing

  • Manage inventory of NYPC-branded promotional items. 
  • Assist in planning and execution of external and internal events.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager and external graphic designer to create and update printed collateral.
  • Create flyers for employee and public events.
  • Ensure patient media consent forms are up-to-date and maintained in ‘s’ drive and the patient’s medical record.

 

Internal Communications and Employee Engagement

  • Write articles for the employee newsletter as assigned by the Marketing Manager. Create a layout for each issue.
  • Organize and post content to the employee intranet and digital monitors, ensuring that information is kept current.
  • Assist in coordination of company social and team building events.

 

Patient Engagement

  • Assist Marketing Manager and Social Work team to create quarterly programming for the Patient Alumni Network. Manage event registration and communication with attendees.
  • Use Salesforce to send regular Alumni Network recruitment emails and quarterly e-newsletters.
  • Partner with Social Work team to maintain peer mentor database in Salesforce and assist with patient-mentor matches made by social workers.

 

Other Duties

  • Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with at least 2 years of marketing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with clinical and non-clinical departments at NYPC and with staff at referring physician practices
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in various scenarios
  • Creative with a good eye for effective graphic design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe suites, and Photoshop. Ability to learn digital platforms including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Wordpress, and SocialClimb
  • Availability for local travel to physician practices
