(Chicago-Hybrid) The position of Marketing Writer is responsible for producing content for radio, television, and podcasts, with a focus on donor-centric engagement and fundraising communication. This role involves writing and editing promotional and editorial pieces, managing tasks, meeting deadlines, and analyzing data to extract relevant information, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Content and Production. This position is based in our headquarters located in downtown Chicago.
We are seeking an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a marketer, writer or related experience. Training or equivalent experience in writing for multiple media channels including radio, TV and podcasts. Training or equivalent experience in donor-centric engagement/fundraising communications. Experience writing to both Christian and Jewish audiences.
Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
Content Development
- Develop promotional content for digital platforms, including radio commercials, podcasts, websites, emails, and advertisements.
- Develop engaging and persuasive scripts for radio advertisements.
- Ensure the messaging aligns with the brand's voice and objectives.
- Integrate promotional messages seamlessly within the podcast content.
- Create SEO-friendly web content that drives traffic and engagement.
- Develop content for landing pages, blog posts, and other web-based promotional materials.
- Ensure ad content is visually appealing and effectively communicates the brand message.
- statements received related to bequests, perpetual trusts and split interest trusts.
Cross-Organization Collaboration
- Collaborate with the content team to write and edit material for fundraising channels, internal teams, and external audiences.
- Assist Brand and Creative Strategy teams with copy for projects and campaigns.
- Develop and edit content for marketing campaigns to improve donor engagement and fundraising revenue.
- Collaborate with leaders on the Content, Production and Archives team on team strategies, goals and KPI’s.
- Create new produced content to support brand awareness goals, campaigns, and strategies.
Proposals
- Collaborate with fundraising teams, the GCOO and U.S. CEO to draft proposals for prospective donors.
- Work closely with the Global Chief Operating Officer and U.S. CEO to ensure proposals align with organizational priorities and strategic initiative.
- Incorporate feedback from fundraising team members to refine and enhance proposal drafts.
- Customize proposals to address the specific interests and philanthropic goals of potential donors.
- Emphasize the unique value proposition and benefits of supporting the organization.
Standard Operating Procedures
- Manage standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations.
- Ensure all content creation processes are standardized and documented.
Technical Skills & Abilities: - Outstanding communication skills, particularly the ability to write efficiently and concisely.
- Mastery of the English language, grammar, and spelling.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks with strict publication deadlines.
- Self-motivated, highly creative, with a strong ability to work both in a team setting and independently.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract pertinent information from large amounts of data.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of and interest in Israel and Judaism and the ability to write to an evangelical Christian audience.
- Experience using research methods and journalistic standards.
- Knowledge of general website maintenance software programs (WordPress).
- Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
