Partner, UK Insurance Investments

The role of the UK Insurance Investment Partner is to drive revenue growth for the UK investment practice from the delivery of investment advisory services to insurance clients. The role involves working with +250 colleagues in the UK investment practice who are delivering high quality investment advice & implementation to institutional investors. It also includes working with colleagues in Reinsurance and Commercial Risk to create and grow investment services for Aon’s existing insurance clients and building strong relationships with clients and prospects to maximise the opportunity to deliver the best of Aon to meet their specific needs.

What the day will look like

  • Prospecting and identifying new insurance client opportunities (including from existing Aon clients where we do not currently provide investment services) to deliver investment advisory services.
  • Bringing sales to successful closure as well as growing and accurately forecasting new business pipeline.
  • Growing Aon’s profile in the Insurance Investment market through:
  • Networking with key clients, prospects and other stakeholders in the market.
  • Attending and presenting at conferences and other industry events.
  • Directing the development of insightful insurance investment research and intellectual capital and taking this out to the market.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the business plan for growing revenue from insurance clients, taking ownership of this plan and delivering on agreed financial goals.
  • Identifying insurance client needs and challenges and working with Aon subject matter experts to develop compelling propositions and solutions.
  • Being a ‘go to’ expert within investment for queries about the insurance market and for wider Aon colleagues with questions about investment.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and wholly consistent with Aon policies, values and behaviors.


Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • An insurance investment professional with strong knowledge of and significant prior experience working in the insurance investment market, with a network of warm insurance industry contacts.
  • Significant prior experience working at an insurer in an investment role or in a consulting firm focused on insurance investment.
  • A demonstrable track record of achievement and proven experience of new business sales and the acquisition of new customers (including in a formal competitive procurement process).
  • Proven ability of developing and implementing a business development plan, resulting in the acquisition of new clients and increased revenue.
  • High degree of up-to-date knowledge about the insurance industry, including services offered; regulatory considerations; industry drivers; key challenges; opportunities and the competitive landscape
  • The ability to overcome customer concerns and objections.
  • Experience of negotiation with clients on pricing and terms and conditions.
  • A demonstrable track record of continuously networking with prospective customers, to develop and close future opportunities.
  • Committed to developing and maintaining a high degree of knowledge about Aon’s business and service offerings; the market; industry drivers; customer issues and the
  • competitive landscape beyond Insurance investment.
  • Committed to taking personal ownership for their performance.

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • +15 years industry of relevant insurance investment related experience
  • Direct and significant prior experience working for insurers or consulting firms focused on insurance investment.
