Marketing Director Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced, strategically minded, and data-driven B2B marketeer to help us enhance and amplify our marketing capability and deliver impact against our business goals.
About Inviqa
We are a full-service digital product agency. Our mission is to transform the way brands transact and interact with their customers in the digital world. We create seamless journeys using user-centred design and development thinking to close the gap between what a brand promises and what customers experience online.
This is delivered by a dedicated and experienced team of 100+ designers, developers, strategists (and everything in between!) based out of the UK and Europe.
In early 2022, Inviqa joined the Havas Group and moved its HQ into the Havas Village in Kings Cross. Being part of Havas presents a raft of opportunities: from the internal education and positioning of Inviqa, to establishing strong relationships with agencies across the village – with the focus on joint marketing initiatives, joint sales opportunities, and joint success – and the ability to operate on a global scale if .
You might know us from our work with the likes of Starbucks, Talk Mobile, Whitbread, Arsenal FC, and many more – or recognise us as award winners at The Webby Awards, UXUK Awards, and The Drum DADI Awards.
Together with our clients, we shape the digital products, teams, processes, and software systems organisations need to meet diverse customer needs and accelerate business growth.
Our people value purposeful thinking and action, empathy, openness, learning, and collaboration. These are the benchmarks we use to hire, promote, and reward – and they’re at the heart of our culture.
We want a world that is crafted by diverse people for diverse customers, ensures great experiences for everyone, and creates the best outcomes for our clients and their customers.
If you share our mission and values, we’d love to hear from you!
About the role
The Marketing Director is responsible for developing our marketing strategy and overseeing the management and implementation of marketing and business development activity, so we deliver against our new business and growth goals.
You’ll lead the development and evolve our marketing positioning and strategy building the plan and ensuring its execution. You will be supported by a team, which combines both sales and marketing practitioners to ensure we raise awareness of our brand, drive audience engagement, convert new business opportunities and support cross sell to existing clients.
The Marketing Director plays a key role in developing synergies across the Havas Group and enabling us to amplify each other’s efforts effectively.
Your role will be to ensure that Inviqa delivers on its growth goals through the application of innovative and appropriate marketing activity.
Key responsibilities include:
Marketing strategy and planning: develop our marketing strategy and oversee the delivery of a marketing plan designed to help us deliver on our growth plans and achieve our new business targets.
Positioning and brand strategy: work alongside key stakeholders to shape and bring to life our brand narrative and proposition. Collaborate with teams across the business to create content that conveys our proposition in a compelling way. Build a deep understanding of our business, its strengths and identify the ideal customer profiles and core communities, who would benefit from our services.
Multichannel campaigns: oversee the planning and execution of campaigns that leverage relevant channels and touchpoints to raise brand awareness within our target audiences and drive lead generation. Oversee our day-to-day performance marketing channels including paid social, paid media, partnerships, and so on.
Team leadership and direction: Lead and manage our friendly, skilled, and motivated marketing and business development team of 5. Inspire, motivate, and lead by example while contributing to the everyday practicalities of life as a small marketing function.
Internal collaboration: liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business and the Havas network as appropriate to identify and develop opportunities (e.g. from strategic brand positioning pieces to speaking opportunities and client advocacy). You will seek to demonstrate and showcase our capabilities and help position Inviqa as a thought leader in our chosen markets. Support the activities of the Sales and Marketing teams and ensure the functions operate in tandem to achieve and exceed their targets.
Budget building and management: manage the budget to support marketing our ambitions, ensuring it delivers an effective ROI on investments.
Industry and partner engagement: confidently represent Inviqa to industry stakeholders, articulating our vision, what we do, and the compelling qualities that make up Inviqa. Liaise and collaborate with strategic partners, including across the Havas village, to identify joint marketing opportunities and activities to drive shared growth.
Data-driven approach: ensure activity is measured, optimised for performance, and analysed for opportunities, and make marketing decisions based on data. Agree and set challenging growth goals, reporting on key metrics and sharing useful insights to inspire further campaign ideas.
About you
You thrive in a digital product agency / digital consultancy environment and are equally comfortable collaborating with senior stakeholders, cross-organisational teams, and partners.
A brilliant communicator across all mediums you will be able to identify the best ways to showcase our engineering and XD capabilities, turning them into customer focused propositions, that can be promoted across multiple channels and for multiple audiences. You are creatively minded, and able to work with cross departmental teams to create high-quality, thought-provoking content and sales material.
You share our core values: Purpose, Human, Open, Learning and Together. This means that you are goal-driven and deliver on your commitments. You empathise with clients and colleagues. You share knowledge and give honest feedback. You are open to new ideas and ways of doing things. You have a thirst for learning, and collaboration is key to how you drive success.
The skills and competencies we’re looking for:
Creative and innovative: You’re able to think creatively about how to drive business impact across the spectrum of marketing activity. Willing to experiment and test ideas, you will have a flair for spotting new opportunities. You will be able to add a unique voice and style to marketing materials.
Strategic: able to build annual marketing plans and ensure their execution. Curious, you will continually review the market and be able to spot and navigate evolving market dynamics and emerging trends.
Leadership: You’re a great leader. You can motivate team members of all levels, helping them grow and managing overall team performance. Leading from the front, ensuring scope for the team to operate and grow their roles alongside their personal and professional skills. You’re also considered, purposeful, and resilient when it comes to stakeholder-management across the senior leadership team.
Resourceful and Results focused: You’re results-driven, you will look for creative ways to overcome barriers and ensure our marketing plans and growth targets are delivered.
Enthusiasm for digital products: You’re passionate about inclusive and purposeful digital products that drive the best customer and business outcomes.
Teamwork: You’re a strong team player, but equally a self-starter, and able to work independently. You will work with other leaders in the business with a common purpose, prepared to listen to others as much as voice your opinions drawn from your professional expertise.
Communication: You will be a natural and excellent communicator through all mediums.
Proactive: You’re proactive, a problem-solver, and able to turn challenges into opportunities. You have a finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest marketing trends and insights. You provide data-driven recommendations and have a track record in discovering and leveraging new channels and untapped opportunities to drive more impact against our marketing KPIs.
Capabilities and essential experience
An established career and track record built up over many years, predominantly at a digital agency consultancy / professional services company.
3+ years’ experience in a similar Director role within the agency environment or with significant experience at a Senior Manager level, ambitious to make your next move.
Proven ability to create and execute a marketing strategy and supporting plan that delivers against business goals and objectives and within a budget.
Expert in B2B marketing, including lead generation, nurture, and acquisition.
Proven leadership experience including coaching, mentoring, line management, and the ability to inspire others.
Accustomed to strategically influencing senior leadership to shape and promote aspects of the marketing strategy and marketing plan execution, with a hands-on approach.
Solid understanding and proven usage of digital marketing performance techniques and the likes of data-driven email marketing, SEO, PPC, paid media, A/B testing etc.
What’s in it for you?
You will be supported to develop your skills and experience both through our dedicated training budget, and the chance to attend conferences. We offer a genuinely flexible working environment, great offices, and a company full of fantastic people.
We believe that good things come to organisations that align, design, develop, and optimise for diverse customer needs and clearly defined strategic objectives. Our teams help clients to drive the best customer and business outcomes through purposeful and inclusive digital products.
We’re a team of around 100 strategists, designers, technologists – and everything in between. And with offices across the UK, we’re a local agency with global reach. Our vision is to create the best possible experiences for each other, our clients and their customers.
