The Marketing Manager (UK) is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of strategic, integrated, compelling and competitive marketing and communications plans specifically for the UK wholesale channel. Helping to ensure clear alignment to the broader marketing strategy and corporate messaging, as well as contributing directly to the business objectives for the UK Wholesale channel, the role also plays a key part in working closely with the broader B2B Channel Marketing team, as appropriate, to ensure the brand’s wholesale activities support and clearly reinforce our broader proposition and marketing messages across EMEA, as appropriate.

How you'll spend your time

  • Support development and delivery of strategic marketing communications, positioning plans and programmes / initiatives for the UK Wholesale channel.
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing activities and drive measurable results, that support the broader business objectives, ensuring appropriate buy-in, awareness and understanding within the wider marketing team, as well as across the business, to enable successful delivery externally as well as in line with Columbia Threadneedle risk appetite and policies.
  • Proactively assess emerging and evolving UK Wholesale marketing needs to help ensure the brand is on or ahead of relevant marketing trends as well as overall positioning with key target audiences, and aligned to our broader data driven, digital-first marketing approach, focused on deepening engagement with our various target audiences, as well as clearly supporting the commercial objectives of the business.
  • Collaborate with relevant distribution and investment leaders to understand overall business, product, and distribution strategy, aligning these with the broader marketing objectives, and help to effectively managing stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively collaborate with wider marketing team, to help deliver on the broader marketing strategy, key initiatives, etc. 
  • Constructively challenge the norm to deliver significant step changes in client experience and commercial results.
  • Serve as an expert and advocate for appropriate use of our brand and wholesale marketing activities in accordance with broader corporate messaging and positioning, and brand and style guidelines.


To be successful in this role you will have

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of Wholesale channel and routes to market in UK – able to gain immediate credibility and hit the ground running.
  • Unapologetically client focused, yet commercially driven with strong understanding of financial drivers / business requirements, and strong budget management skills.
  • Reputation as a sophisticated marketing expert as demonstrated through past results.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivery to time and within budget.
  • “Student of the game”; stays up to date on Marketing and industry trends.
  • Strong influencing, collaborating and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Strong digital marketing application skills.


It would be great if you also had

  • Graduate or relevant professional qualification.
  • Investment Management Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in marketing automation, Salesforce, Workfront, Marketing Cloud or equivalent
